The Professional Standards for BC Educators document is linked below. This document is deeply important. As a teacher candidate, these standards are ones that I am held to, both by myself and by others. These standards give a clear indication of the responsibilities of teachers to their students and to the wider community. The ninth standard, detailing how educators contribute to truth, reconciliation, and healing is vitally important to my teaching practice. It is something that I strive toward daily today, and I look forward to the opportunity to contribute to reconciliation in a classroom setting.
