The following are pieces of evidence that show who I am as a teacher and the type of teacher that I am striving to be. They are artifacts from my various practicums that showcase the work that I did with the students.
These are photos of a Seasons in Secwepemcúl̓ecw Unit that I did with my class during my 2 week practicum in April of 2022. Every day, we talked about a different season and what the Secwépemc people traditionally did during that season. Students created notebooks and recorded a new Secwepemctsín word every day.

The following pictures are from a ADST Unit that my class did on house building. We created blueprints for a potential house on a real lot in Kamloops, created 3D models based on those blueprints, and then created physical models of those houses out of cardboard, paper, etc. We had a professional home designer in the community come to talk to the students about what his day-to-day job looks like, provide the students with tips on how best to design their homes, and shared some of his recent work. We also wrote real estate listings based on our houses! Throughout the unit, we learned about traditional Secwépemc housing as well – researching pit houses and mat lodges.
At the end of the unit, we held an open house where we invited administration, other classes, parents and the home designer from the community who had previously visited our class in to view the work that we had done throughout the unit!
